V&H CS One question
« on: April 10, 2012, 05:57:08 pm »
Question for other V&H pipe users.....

I recently installed a CS One and had the ECU reflashed by Guhl.  I am thoroughly impressed with the results but have a product question on the pipe.  The instructions indicate the mid-pipe should have a slotted end where it connects with the header collector.  Mine does not.  Install went very smoothly and the pipe and muffler are very secure however I am detecting an ever-so-slight exhaust leak at the mid-pipe / collector connection.  I have loosened, repositioned the clamp and re-tightened to see if I can eliminate it but to no affect.

For other CS One owners, did your mid-pipe come with a slot at the one end and if not, did you cut one?

Thanks!

Mine came with a slot.   Just installed it 2 weeks ago.   That seems very strange.

I would ask for a new pipe b4 cutting.   Worth a shot.  I guess its not a big deal either way.   Good luck.

I tried to take a pic of the header / mid pipe connection.  The clamp is blocking the slots.

Thanks for the reply stl-cards....very helpful.  I will reach out to V & H and see what they think.  I am otherwise very impressed with the quality of the CS One and the sound is really nice....maybe a little aggressive when sneaking out of my neighborhood for my early commute.  I may ask them to send me a sound insert at the same time.

Thanks again for the info!

There are a few inserts.  I think the part numbers are on the installation instruction sheet.

Personally i like the sound!

I installed the 1 7/8 insert in my CSOne and it quiets it down a bit but it still sounds great.

I spoke with them and put on the 1.5" insert. The sound is somewhat more mellow.
