...Well, I got the 2 Brother Can...
« on: November 20, 2013, 09:27:53 pm »
...and my first impression was: Oh, No! they are so noisy, why do I always buy aftermarket junk???? >:(

After I put the "noise suppressor" then my reactions changed to: Oh No! they are just as noisy with a different tone

But, then, after riding with it for a while, I guess I now think more like: Man, these things are too noisy for me.

In all seriousness, it is a great sounding can for folks whose ears have not been through the trauma of flight-lines, gun-shots and 30 years of helmetless motorcycling. I can't hardly hear myself fart anymore though the neighborhood filed a complaint on the noise....not the smell.

Whattar I are gonna do now? is see my machinist friend and see if he can make a little baffle to put in there to hold down the racket...really, I am exaggerating!

I ain't gonna put the stock back this time.

Last time I got a Delkevic and that one was a little quitter than the 2Bros. but I took it off in favor of even more quite. But this time, the weight of that stock muffler freaked me out more than ever. I think I rather tolerate the noise of the 2Bro than to put that hollow tree-trunk-bazooka stock muffler back on my sweet Connie. Plus, hey, she is dressed much more nicely now with the M-5 Carbon 2Bro. look

Beauty is in the eye/ear of the beholder. I love my 2bros slipon. The bike sounds like a superbike....you are correct, they are not for everyone. Glad we still have freedom to chose on this one still...

the TBR slip-on for the C14 is simply too loud. Anyone thinking of buying one better take the trouble to hear one in person first.

Twenty five bucks it is for you. Oh yea, shipping. Well shipping is 350.00. So just put 375 in my Pay Pal...you won't ever be able to say:"I never did nothing for you"... :beerchug:

Actually fellers, I removed the noise suppressor and Boy! was that thing loud!!
Then Bruce offered me 25 dollars -- that was dollars, right Bruce, not pesos, right? Between how loud it is without the suppressor, and Bruce's offer, I am starting to get used to it.
Another hour of bidding on eCOG and I may start loving it...may not even want to sell it.

Hi Nando-
Surprisingly, my wife thinks my bike is much too quiet.  I had an aftermarket Micron on my Tiger 1050 which sounded great and she could hear me when I got home.  If you want to sell it, tell me where you are at on the price.  Is it actually new or new to you and previously owned by someone else?

Feel free to PM me with a price if you like.

Hi Nando.

My apologies if I am stating the obvious here but the sound level is NOTICABLY different if you are riding with the bags on the bike.  If it seemed loud and you had the bags off....put them on and go for a ride before you make your final decision.

Good luck with the decision and hope the above helps!

Nando, I'm surprised you don't like the sound.  I have the 2bro can and without the insert other people complained a little about the noise.  It didn't bother me, not one bit.  I ride with a full face and ear plugs.  Any way I installed the insert and I think it sounds great, not too loud and not quiet like the stock pipe.  My advice is keep the can and wear plugs, it will also cut down the wind noise which is also harmful to your hearing.

Take care,
(TAKE CARE) in case you didn't hear me the first time,

You know guys, I been riding bikes long enough to appreciate the sound of the 2 Bro....It is actually growing on me.

I tried the ear plug option but I did not adopt it.

I am just thinking that my ears had enough decibel input to last a life time. I wear a full face, got a shield with no turbulence and I don't even listen to rock-n-roll anymore...if I were to listen to the Spirit, I would sell the Bros and get a quieter one...but due to either ear damage or stubbornness, I don't listen well...
we LL see...

I think I know what you mean by decibel input, after years around aircraft and flightline work I think I'm deaf to the Two Brothers slip-on on my bike.  I can only really hear it when I'm pushing the bike hard.  Now my KLR with a Jardine makes my left ear click inside and really is a put off.  The crazy tweet sound or a clicking ear both suck.

Hopefully you grow to love the pipe or find something you like better.   :)

To my ears (and I have a bit of hearing loss from years of power tools and loud car audio) the AreaP is the most quiet slip on.  I bought one from Tundra Tom because a buddy really wanted one and had a CS One in black that I really wanted.  I put the AreaP on and was very surprised at how quiet it was but then had a great growl when you really got in the throttle.  It had a very nice mellow and low tone.  I put it on my bike and almost didn't want to take it off but it was a bit too quiet for my taste.  The CSOne is a bit louder but not as loud as the Two Bros and the CS One has a higher pitch tone.

I love my 2 brothers. I had one on my Bandit 1250 and now on my C14. One thing I just did though was I had the Mid pipe ceramic coated. It started out silver but started to blue and it didn't match the rest of the bike. Everything on the bike is either black or silver. Now the mid pipe is black and looks great as well as sounds great.

I love my two brothers also, but sometimes they can be a pain in the arses...for one thing, both of them are dumber than me and that's a recipe for conflicts.

I have the Delkovic 18" oval and it's great.  Not loud at all, and sounds great when you twist the throttle.

Sell the 2B, someone will grab it in a minute I'm sure...

Nandi, I have the Two Bros on my 2010 with the lowest dB sound suppressor (the smallest diameter).  They offer two inserts.  Check their website. At cruise, there is more wind noise than exhaust.  Works great for me... I'm not going back to that heavy stock can.
