I tried Mapquest also but found one needs a Facebook account to access / save routes. I might be the last human on the planet but I do not have a Facebook account so Mapquest didn't work for me either.

Brian

I have been wrestling with some of the options here with no complete success. HD was working okay, but the route was always a bit off. Garmin Basecamp turned into turtle on my Netbook...

In desperation, I wandered over to Mapquest to plot a route for distance, and low and behold...the program not only does what I asked it to, it saved my maps, tolerated my waypoint adjustments, saved my routes, and then downloaded my routes straight to my Garmin Nuvi with no fanfare. Whoddathunk?

Cheers,
Randy

Brian,
honda trip planner worked great. After countless attempts on HD ride, i went to the honda site and was up and running in not time. It is far frrom perfect but it is simple to do and it works. Two of my favorite things! Like, open beer and consume! simple and easy to repeat!

Since I do have a Facebook account that i never look at I am gonna try the Mapquest thing too. Can't we sue Garmin to give us back the old Mapsource? At least it worked well.

Thanks for the feedback on the Honda site- I will give it a shot.

Old copies of Mapsource are still around and will still work.

Brian,
Both the honda and the HD site trip planner will only take up to 25 waypoints/stops before they cry no more. if you are trying to do lots of backroads then I have just split it in to two sections and all works well.

Good point.  I'm amazed that half the people on bike specific forums can even get on the internet.
