Calender Question (s)
« on: April 26, 2016, 12:46:23 am »
3 part'er. Can it be done? What kind of PITA would it be? Is there a benefit? Can we put together a national calendar that shows all events for all area's? (Sorry, I guess 4 part'er). A lot of SW members are heading to the NW for the BC. And some are looking to head to the SC for the big bend ride. I know we get NW, NC and SC members coming out sometimes for SW events. Most would never know about them unless they were on the forum or searching other areas calendars. Just wondering if this would be a mess or help promote some cross pollination participation for area border huggers or folks planning a trip to other areas. The new event ticker helps but again, if your not active on the forum. Thoughts?

Like this?

the normal calender also allows users to switch to other areas using the pull down menu. Always has.

There is more to be gained by members raising hands saying "I'll do that" instead of pointing fingers saying "nobody's doing that."

Hey OMC

If you click the 2016 Event List on the mini event calendar in the top right of the forum it will take your here

http://www.cog-online.org/clubportal/ClubStatic.cfm?clubID=1328&pubmenuoptID=46796

It gives a list of every ride, tech session, meet & greet and more that is currently active on the COG event calendar.

It allows you to see all regions and rides at once, but also allows you to filter for rides by region or by state.

Give the List a try.

You might also try "Events By Date - All" and "Events by Date - Next 30 Days" under the Event Calendar drop down in the Forum menu bar.

There are so many events that putting all regions together on every month in a grid style would probably get a little, messy? Busy? Not sure the right word

The event lists and Twitter have only been around and active for about a month I think. All the calendars & lists then link you to each event details and registration page directly.

At the top of the forum theme for Mobile (which is automatic if you access the forum from a phone browser)
is a link that says, "COG Event Calendar" which will take you to a Mobile formatted 2016 COG Event List
