COGMOS - UPDATE
« on: November 18, 2014, 03:42:39 pm »
The much anticipated and long awaited update to the COGMOS (COG Membership Online System) is happening today Tuesday 18th November.

Please be aware that the COG website at cog-online.org will be unavailable from time to time while Memberize perform the upgrade.
In addition its also possible that the authentication to this forum will be affected.

Please be patient while we iron out any issues that may arise over the next 48 hours.

Cheers

Colin

Ok so the roll out of the new Memberize back-end has for the most part gone smoothly.
For the vast majority of you, you will not find any huge changes.

The biggest and most important, is the new shopping cart.
Now if for example, if you renew your membership, register for an event and purchase an item from the store, all the 3 items go into a single shopping cart that you checkout. Were as before it was 3 separate transactions.
For basic information on how this looks see this video

One issue that has come to light is a new "bug" related to a recent Microsoft update that was applied to our server and Chrome that's related to SSL certificates.
If you get an error when trying to access your account using Chrome it may be this:

UPDATE: Memberize are working on a server-side fix to this issue. The simple workaround is to use Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Colin,
Thanks for all the work you (and others) do to keep the COG on-line stuff going. :great:
I'm thinking of sending a suggestion to the board for a salary increase for you, maybe in the 15% range; that would be much better than a lump-sum award!

Colin, question about the site.  on the right hand side there's a spot to register for the newsletter.  Even if I'm logged in, it appears that it's trying to sign me up for the N.E. Newsletter?  After I entered by email address, the next screen has "NE Full Member List".

any thoughts?

Dave;
That was because the settings of the NE Full Member list was set to Public, that enables folks to signup without an account and then lists the subscribe option to it on the home page.
I have just switched it to Restricted so now its no longer shown.

Thanks for the heads up.
