Title: Email notification of PM's stopped working

Sometime in the last week I stopped receiving email notification of PM's. I have not made any changes to my forum profile.

Please look into this as I am not usually logged into the forums.

I just checked you profile, notifications are turned on. The server is sending e-mails, I received and topic notification just this morning.

I'll run certain forum maintenance scripts, sometimes that helps odd malfunctions like this.

In the meantime, make sure you or your e-mail host isn't blocking, and check your spam folder.

Willy - already done before filing this issue.

Another member and I had been communicating via PM for two weeks. The last notification I received was on the 24th.

check your spam folder.

i'm working with our DNS people to get the proper forward DNS names setup for the new server.

That's the first thing I did, about an hour before filing the report.

I need you or Willy to send me an email from IT@cog-online to see if something at my end is blocking it.

Use the email add'y in my profile.

I use gmail and I often find these things in Trash, not just in Spam.

So last night I was getting tired after spinning my wheels verifying my email, spam filter settings, router logs and getting nowhere, and I missed this.

A week after the server migration you're telling us there is still an issue with resolving DNS names???

Well, this is the difference between doing this stuff for a living and supporting your club....

Doing it for a living, your boss might scream or fire you...
Supporting your club, people might scream at you but there's no hope to get fired, just more people to question what you do, how you do it and how easy it should be....
Sometimes Monday can't come quick enough..... :D

Well, this is the difference between doing this stuff for a living and supporting your club....

Doing it for a living, your boss might scream or fire you...
Supporting your club, people might scream at you but there's no hope to get fired, just more people to question what you do, how you do it and how easy it should be....
Sometimes Monday can't come quick enough..... :D

You're also making the assumption that the vendor in question is responsive to their trouble tickets.

it's not that the domain isn't resolving, i need an additional domain name to point to the server so i can create a reverse dns  entry so that the various spam filter around the world will be appeased.
i also requested that they update the SPF(sender policy framework) record to include the IP or our new server as something that is authorized to send mail as cog-online.org.

but, yes it's taking too long, and i've just pinged them again asking for a status update on the ticket.

Ahh, and there it is, the point I was going to make. Communication. If you had started a new post, Mike, saying the migration was completed but there were some problems with email notifications, none of this would have occurred.

Communication. A simple concept that when lacking leads to confusion and discontent.

In the meantime, I wasted a couple of hours thinking I had a problem at my end.

Sorry, Mike, still not working, at least as of the 5th.

I responded to your PM - send me another PM and lets see whats going on. Oh, and like I said, I don't use gmail, I'm using Yahoo mail.

looks like the IP the forum moved to came pre registered on 2 real time black lists  as a known spammer... joy.

i'm working through getting it de-listed.

the IP came pre-blacklisted, so we didn't have to work as hard.

yeah,  for whatever reason Microsoft decided they hate our server. it's really odd because we're not on any of the main RBLs.

I'm working on it.

looks like it's working now.
i was working with  MSFT on this but i didn't want to announce anything prematurely but it seems to be working now, as i'm not seeing any NDRs for being blacklisted anymore.

MSFT??  Did they force you to install WIN 10 in order to be deemed worthy of their help?  :D
