Internal Server Error

On occasion I get the following error message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@forum.cog-online.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I get the same thing on occasion.  I do not think it is the end of the world and yes it seems the post does go through even with the error but life would be better fixed.

Happens to me once in a while, maybe once or twice a week. Internal error, don't think that has anything to do with what browser, though I can't say that for certain. Only happens when submitting a post.

Happens to me also.  Post goes through as well.
I actually thought the computer was diagnosing me...
... I have to have a few fatal errors in my head.

Happens rarely though.  I'm using Mozilla Firefox, if that helps.

Ok with Fred H's help I have made some progress.
My challenge was I could not reliably reproduce the error.

The problem is with PHP trying to allocate more memory when it can't.
{Update} The issue turned out to be a script terminating early.
" Premature end of script headers: php-legacy, referer: http://forum.cog-online.org/index.php?"
Now I have found the problem in the error logs I'll see how I can fix it.

Maybe its real or maybe a test to find out who will follow instruction to email the webmaster instead if posting it.  :nananana:

Seems the problem is getting worse for some strange reason.  If it happens, please do not hit the BACK button or Refresh the browser as this will cause multiple posts.  Just go back to the home forum page and start over.

Every time I try to respond to a PM, I receive the following error message:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Internal Server Error

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@forum.cog-online.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't a user error, as I've sent plenty of PMs in the past.

I get that same error when ever I post or reply.  However, the post or reply I made seems to always be there if I just go back and reload the page.  Go figure????

Ok I'm going to take some time off my day job to see if I can figure this out now.
Be advised that some of the Forum Features will not work while I turn things off in an attempt to fault find this issue.
