Please eliminate the tires and accessories sub forums!

It seems that C14 posts (on this otherwise Excellent Forum) are (very) arbitrarily condemned to some other subforum, depending upon the current phase of the moon (?)

  1. There isn't really that much activity on the C14 forum (therefore v little justification for subforums)

  2. At least 50% of the current discussion topics should (arguably) be in the subforums (but, its just past a full moon)...

  3. Keep It Simple, (please)

lets look at what is an accessory.  For example, brake and clutch levers. The bike comes with two of them. So is a short or red, blue or gold  lever to replace what came on the bike an accessory? Is Steve's flash an accessory? The bike came wit a ECU. Lowered riders foot pegs. An Accessory? High pegs yes. It is sort of subjective. Basically what I use as a determination of the definition of an accessory is did the bike come with it. It comes from the factory with a seat, not a Lamm seat but a seat just the same.  An Air Hawk on the other hand is an accessory. I suppose one could argue the handle bar risers are accessories but may not always. GPS, radar detectors, garage door openers etc are.

Keep in mind there are several people who monitor the forum and while we try we might not always view things the same or we just might miss something. Another thing for you to ponder is sometimes the title isn't what the thread is. Sometimes you have to read to see where it might go.  The biggest problem we have is sometimes people post on the first child board they come to and don't understand why their thread got moved.

One other thing I look at is age of the thread. If I or another mod missed one a couple of months ago, I'm not moving it now.

If you see something that you think is in the wrong place, you can PM or better yet report the post. thanks Tim

<--- is there any mechanism in place to deal with a non- productive, antagonistic, former non- member such as this?
