'08 turbo C14 engine heat burned lft. leg
« on: June 10, 2013, 10:47:54 am »
Rode for 2.5 hours yesterday. Heat from left vent actually blistered my inner left calf. Didn't have that much heat before the turbo installation. Rode for 10.5 hours without getting burned. I've read of wrapping exhaust header to lower heat on legs on early models. Any suggestions to remedy this problem will be appreciated. Other than that, bike ran fine on the street. Got the brace installed under the Catalyst step seat and the bag hangers are back on. Tail light replaced with a license plate frame with LED tail/brake lights. Lew

These shields work to some extent. I found the tank gets hotter using them so I layed a sheet of heat reflective material under the tank and seat.
