'15 Radiator replacement
« on: August 30, 2015, 05:08:22 pm »
Well I wanted my first post to be a happy one however here goes. I managed to make it since July 11th and 2849 miles before a rock found my radiator. Now I have a small hole and a new radiator on order.  Does anybody have any advise and or pointers on the job of radiator  replacement and coolant refill?

The replacement and refill is pretty straightforward once you have the plastics off.  Sorry about your luck.
Buy a Projekt D radiator guard and install it with the new radiator!  This is the BEST guard available right now.

Just went through this myself last month.  Definitely get a radiator guard and a fender extender as well.  I had my radiator repaired for $60 instead of buying a new one though.

bummer you ordered a radiator before asking around here...big buck$...
any reputable radiator shop could have fixed it for $100 MAX, more like $60 normally...
best of luck. :motonoises:

This is 2400 miles or so with an R/G guard.  You can see the abuse it takes.  I only put 15 miles on it without the guard on.

I got it from murphskits, but I Dont see them listed online.  Must be out of stock.

Just ordered a Projekt D guard.

Almost $30 to ship     :-\

Didn't know at the time I ordered, it was coming from Taiwan.
But since it has gotten rave reviews I guess I'll give it a try.

Hope summer isn't over before I get it.   ;D  Less than 3 weeks you know.........

Well I wonder if the OP got his new radiator installed ???  and bought a guard to go with it ???
