Windshield Tint
« on: June 05, 2017, 06:48:05 pm »
I am finally am ordering a new Cee Bailey windshield and even adding the fugly mail slot.  I went to checkout and failed to realize I could order one with a tint. I am choosing between clear and light grey. Does anyone have experience with tinting? While I care about the looks of my bike, my first priority is always function over form (as evidenced by putting in the mail slot). Does the tinting impact visibility at all? I was mostly worried about driving at dawn. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Didn't ride much after midnight.

If you ride at night, consider how difficult it is already to see obstacles on the highway.  Unless you have a great HID setup, it's likely you don't get the kind of illumination that cars/trucks achieve.  That alone would be enough reason to me to go with clear.  The last thing I'd want is to hit a chair, ladder, or couch going 80 MPH on the highway!

My stock shield I see over the top of, and I think most folks do also... not sure if tint really matters unless you are always looking thur the screen...
Anything close enough to see thru the screen is under your tires already, at 20 mph, and unavoidable anyways...even with fast reactions.

I agree. Not that aware of the Givi height, but I don't think it's that tall?
Unless your really short (like Harry) you should never look thru your shield.

Ride safe, Ted
Note: Being a nice guy, I removed Harry's name so I wouldn't embarrass him...  <evil grin>

Have dark tint Cee Baileys tall euro tour the only time the tint bothers me is dirt and rock parking lots hard to see larger stones.
