Even better: 2 stickers! 100k and 50k  - Eddie Minter can set you up.

Nice how you caught it right at 150,000.

Good to know on the valve adjusts. Kawasaki does make a good motorcycle. The more I ride mine the more I like it.

That's awesome.  It's great to see how long they can go.  I went a couple years without riding my 08 a whole lot, but have been giving it some good loving this year.  Even so, I only have 40,000.  Keep it up.

will try to answer all the questions. I got the 100 sticker some time ago but it either faded or peeled off, can't

remember which. Looking for my COG card so I can send a copy to Eddie.
I've done two valve adjustments. Each time some were tight. Second time I set all to loose side. Also did a TB

balance. I am undecided whether to check the valves again. Planning to go to 200,000. (At least) By then I will

probably be ready for a new bike. At this time the Connie 14 is top of the list. We rode a BMW R1200RT in Europe

last month and the wife wants one. That is number two on my list. Number three is FJR.

I installed ZSteves foam heat blockers and that was a big improvement. No heat issues now. It has used some oil from day one, about a quart in 3000 miles. That has not changed over the years. I tried some Motul 20W50 super ester synthetic $55 dollars a gallon oil and no difference. I did back to back Blackstone lab anals on the Rotella T6 and the Motul $$$ and the Rotella won. No compression checks. The motor still pulls hard enough to scare the crap outta me. That's good enough for me. It is the best bike I have ever owned. I still have a 99 Honda VFR 800 with 146,000 miles on it but had many issues with it, mainly the electrical and cooling systems. The C14 handles 90% as well as the VFR and is 150% more comfortable and has been trouble free. Only seen a service bay once for bag latch recall.

and by the way...

Thanks Alan. My name on the Mileage Log site is Ninja Bob. A nickname giving to me by Dana Sawyer, founder of HSTA (Honda Sport Touring Association, now MSTA) when I showed up at the national on my 84 Ninja 900. At that time it was a club for Honda owners but my 82 Honda Sabre V45 was not "sporty" enough for my taste! I've been a Kawasaki rider ever since.

I knew of a rider who beat me to 100,000 by a good margin but I think he trade for something else. Have not heard of anyone else with 150,000 on either forum but I am sure there a a few out there at 200,000. Probably don't have time to post on forums though ;D

Several of you guys have really logged up the miles.  I remember some of you when we all got our 08's new.  What ever happened to BDF?  I remember he used to be really active and logged a lot of miles.  I recall he did a 50CC a few years ago on his Connie.

Brian (BDF) is still active on the other forum. If I remember correctly he hit 100,000  about 6 months ago.

I previously owned a 04 FJR. Over on that forum there are several that swear by Rotella.  Some of them even have over 300,000 on their bike with no major repairs. I used the Rotella in my fjr and never had an issue. The only thing keeping me from using it in the c14 is my bike is under warranty. Not sure if the Rotella meets the specs called for in the manual and I don't want to have to fight the dealer if I ever do have a warranty issue, but I have no doubt that it is good oil.

Gregg,  I called MOBIL about their synthetic MOBIL ONE before I bought it and they told me to use the MOBIL 1  MOTORCYCLE SYNTHETIC OIL    RACING 4T.    The car oil has different additives in it and it would cause my clutch to slip.   :'(   Been using the 4 T for over 100,000 miles in my 09 C14 and no problems.  Good LUCK.   ;)

If we're going to oils.....   ROTELLA T6 in my C14 bike has served me well for > 109,000 miles now.

I could credit KiPass, but that oil worked especially well in my high RPM track bikes too

Both syn, 5w40, and non syn, 15w40 Rotella meet the JASO spec, according to the fine print on the bottle. Don't use the 10w30, however.

Hey Ninja Bob congrats on the 150k milestone.

We have a few things in common. I too had a 82 V45 Sabre, a red one. Great motor but the handling was a bit weird.

Also had a Ninja 1000 but they don't call me Ninja Tim... Lol.

The other similar thing is I too am a Rotella guy. I run it in everything I own. I am curious are you running the regular 15w-40 or the 5w-40 Synthetic?

I got turned on to Shell Rotella back in my dirt bike days. An engine builder and diesel mechanic had a local lab do analysis on most of the major oil brands after a 20 minute practice in a MX bike. Rotella came out on top which was good enough for me.

Curious what your lab reported on your 2 samples?

Cheers and ride safe.

Thanks. Yeah, my Sabre would get into a wobble at 140 mph and the side stand would drag too soon.
I will try to find the reports and post them.
