Battery Removal Tools Needed
« on: July 01, 2019, 03:58:43 am »
Hi all,

I am getting things ready to ride this summer (I know its already warm, I was waiting for some new gear to arrive.) and I can't seem to find what size torx is needed to remove the battery. I am installing a Antigravity Lithium battery.

I saw one video mentioned a T40 but he used a standard bit for the other size. I rather get the rights ones.

Thanks!

Torx? Have you looked at the battery covers? No Torx on my 2008 and I'm sure there aren't any on your bike either. It's Allen, two sizes, 5mm and 6mm along with a 10mm wrench/socket to remove the battery hold down and the ground connection.

I have heard of people using a Torx Bit when the 5 or 6mm hex bit cammed out and ruined a screw but the bolts for a battery removal are all standard hex 5/6 mm heads with a shoulder on the back side for alignment and the the battery tray has a retainer, the one with the blue connector that has a (8mm or 6mm standard head)? The battery leads have 10mm bolt/nut fasteners

I had watched a video and realized the guy was wrong. Thanks all for the sizes. My tool set was missing hex so I got a set from Lowe's.
