My 09 doesn't have any vibration issues, maybe it's only on the 11's??  :017:

My '10 has some but it's not bad.  I think a TB Sync will fix
You only need two tools in life – WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn’t move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn’t move and does, use the duct tape.

I get some vibration, but it's not bad. Nothing that I'm concerned with. It's a motorcycle, they vibrate. Every bike I've ever had had some kind of vibration, and when you are going highway speed, there is more than the bikes vibes to worry about. Wind buffeting, cross winds, all that stuff.

I think vibration level is all relative. What was your previous bike? Go ride a C10 and then ride a C14. The C14 is smooth as glass compared to a C10. I also find it smoother than my FJR was, and just about every other in-line 4 I've owned. However, its got a lot more engine vibration than my GoldWing does.

Are you only looking for feedback on the 2011 bikes?

My 2010 vibrates FAR WORSE than my C10.  I have ridden another 2010 that was much smoother, which told me it was my bike, not all C14's.

You might want to loosen and retorque all the engine mount bolts, and if that doesn't help, I'd probably do a throttle body sync.

Already tried re-torquing all  the motor mount bolts several times, as well as the header nuts.  A valve adjust and TB sync are the only remaining tasks on my to-do list.  After that, it's probably gone.

My previous bike was a cruiser Suzuki C50T 800cc V-Twin.  I honestly think the buzz in the Connie is worse because it is from idle.  At least the Vtwin had a reason to vibrate at higher speeds and rpms because it was about to sling apart.

I don't have any noticeable vibrations on my '11.  Of course, I came from riding HD's, so perhaps I do and don't notice it.  I'd be curious to ride someone's who has the issues to see if there's a difference.  Like one of the other posters mentioned, it is a bike, so (IMO) some degree of vibration should be expected.  Although from the sounds of it, maybe some are getting a lot more than there should be.  No issues here though.

If they can't fix it and you live near Manassas we can swap for a ride.  However you don't need to ride mine to feel the buzz.

Fred,

Just read your posts on the hand numbness topic.  Sounds like you have something going on well beyond the normal, or atleast what i have on mine.  Good luck in getting it resolved.  Several of the points you made about frequency I think make a lot of sense.  It's strange that the same thing is happening on some bikes but not on most others.  Wonder if they had a bad run of parts or something and something was just off a bit.  Who knows.

I can’t say my 2011 Vibrates.  Perhaps a small buzz at 3500 RPM, but at those RPMs, the wind from going 75 MPH makes it hardly noticible

I'm not knowledgeable on motorcycle mechanics.  How does a throttle body work that a resync would solve a buzz issue?

I suspect it's an imbalance of fuel and air flow between cylinders causing vibrations.  Of all the things I have tried, only things that impacted the air flow through the engine have made any noticeable decrease in the vibrations (K&N air filter, ZX-14 header w/o cat + dual exhaust).  Switching to a ZX14 header w/ a cat from one w/o a cat increased the vibrations.

Sadly, a couple weeks after I bought my bike I took it back to the dealer for the vibrations and they recommended a TB sync, but Kawi would not authorize it.  They were not a big enough dealer to eat the labor cost, and if it's going to be on my dime, I will do the sync myself rather than entrust it to anyone else.

I also suspect TB adjustment (relative to TPS maybe) is responsible for the extremely abrupt throttle response I get from fully closed to starting to open the throttle.  On my bike, it slams the drive train hard when you get off and back on the throttle (as in jerking the bars out of your hands).  Sometimes it's borderline dangerous to ride, especially if I'm tired.

I had a C50, moved to a Vulcan 1600 which I thought was smooth, definitely much smoother at highway speeds, but compared to the Connie, they are both far worse to me.

Fred,
My comparison is an 02 Concours, so most anything will have less buzz than that.  I get it in the 4K and up range, but it really is not that bad.  If you want to check out my bike, let me know... I'm in Bristow.

I went from a 98 C-10 to an 08 C-14.  I had to vote yes because there is some vibration.  Very minute and hardly noticeable but there.  But then again, I have never ridden an in-line 4 that didn't have some vibration or buzz.  I could ride the C-10 all day and be just fine even with the buzz, and the C-14 is very smooth ride, but there is some minute vibration. :beerchug:

My '09, when in the twisties at a high rpm will put my right hand to sleep.  I have to find a straight piece of road and then shake my hand a few seconds to get the tingling to quit.

Other than that, no problems.

I tried everything to solve my vibration.

Throttle bodies sync, engine mounting bolts, different oils, bar risers, only thing I didn't do was wrap my hands in pillows and go for a spin.

My 2008 GTR didn't have it, so the vibration is relative allright. The 2008 was relatively vibe-less and the 2011 is terrible.

I am bringing mine to a dealer tomorrow to sell it on at a Eur5,000 loss. I own it 5 months, and have 5,000kms on it. One Euro per km or Eur1000 per month of ownership. I'm depressed at the thought but the bike is no use to me.

Kawasaki should be ashamed of what they are producing and the fact that their flagship bike has ANY vibration at all in it.

I only have very minor vibrations in my 2009 C-14.  I't's less than just about everyone of the 20 or so inline four cylinder Japanese bikes I've owned.  I still remember my old BMW R90/6 and how it vibrated more, but the relatively low frequency of its vibrations meant it didn't bother you.

Fred,

I work in Manassas. My bike is in the parking lot any day it's not raining. It's a 2011. You're welcome to come by and compare if you like. The only buzz I have ever felt is very occaisionally I will feel a little between 3-4k RPM in my right knee against the tank.
