Wish I could have been a fly on the wall when they decided on that paint scheme.  Me no like.  Also, did Kawi change their website...you can no longer switch between current and last year's models?

I was just at the Kaw website.  You can switch between 2018 and 2019 models.  Just click on 2018.

Thanks Bud.  I thought you could switch between years after clicking the Connie, but have to click Learn More button first...my bad.

My initial reaction is, I like it.   :great:  But they still put Bridgestone Battleaxe tires on it.  Don't they follow the COG forum?   >:(

I like it!  Based on the photo, that is.  I am reminded of the 2005 C10 which looked fantastic in the brochures, but the color 'Pearl' or whatever name they used at the time was, in reality, 'Old Man Sedan Brown.'  I look forward to seeing one in person.

Pearl Luster Beige I believe it is called.  I have one of those.  I'm not seeing "Old Man Sedan Brown".  You would be referring to my 1982 GS1100GK......and I resemble that comment! :nananana:

...I'm sure it would grow on me (if I could afford a new '19 :(), but it seems to be looking more 'industrial' and less 'sleek'...IMHO.

If they did follow, the bike would have Cruise control by now.
Same thing with the Hayabusa this year, 20 anniversary and just bold new graffix!

No apologies needed.....you can call it whatever makes you feel good.  There is an awful lot of brown on this earth that didn't come from a paint can.  Hope it doesn't hurt anyone's eyes! :nananana: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I'm glad it's in production as well.  But I'm glad I just found a leftover 2017 in blue...

As colors go, the black scheme on the '18 is ok looking, but whatever they were thinking for the '19 model, was a big mistake, it looks totally Gooched being multi color, and in the manner it was done, looks very poor as the color match and break off points looks like a cobbled together bike that was wrecked and assembled from pieces parts... and slapping on that cheesy vinyl graphics makes it even cheesier looking... total FAIL on them...

As others have mentioned, I'm glad they're producing them for another year. That said, I'm sad that another year has gone by without much updating in the styling, other than the color. I think they would get an uptick in sales if they made some changes to the bike like LED head lights, updated/modernized gauge cluster maybe some other slight changes. I just wish they would make some changes to make a newer bike look newer and make an attempt at keeping up with the FJR changes.

They're gonna milk this design as long as they can get away with it.  There won't be anything major until the next generation.....if there is a next generation.  My hope is that Mama Kaw will pay more attention to the desires of COG members and other fans of the Concours if they continue the model.  I'm not gonna hold my breath.

So Mama K has paid more attention than you might know. Just reluctant to add factory cruise control. That would probably require fly by wire.

Just curious what mama kaw listened to COG about when they developed either of the Concours.  Not trying to be a smarty pants, just looking for more info.

Like others I'm happy to see the C14 going for another year. I'm afraid this color scheme will drive the final nail in it's coffin. What sales they have could come to a halt it's so bad.

It's absolutely awful, appears they just used leftover mismatched parts. Must of had a bunch of leftover black tanks. On the upside, leftovers in 2020 & 21 should be dirt cheap for anyone willing to repaint.

What were they thinking? Never mind they weren't!   :'(

Something just seems wrong in making a touring seat a $534.00 accessory for a touring bike.

I actually didn't mind the color scheme, though I really like the green the best, with the black next from previous years.

Cruise control will probably come about to meet Euro4 or 5 standards.  It's relatively easy to add once you go to fly-by-wire.

I wonder how the internal company dynamics are between Kawasaki Heavy Industries and the motorcycle business.  KHI makes a lot of money manufacturing body sections for Boeing airplanes.  It probably isn't this way, but I think of the motorcycle business as being almost a hobby for them in comparison.  I'm glad they like motorcycles though; the world is a better place for it.

And yes, the body sections are green when they come to Seattle.  :)

Hey, they are making the fast silver again, just like mine. Too bad it has that black stripe, it's almost as perfect as the 08. I'm also super glad they are still making them as it will let me keep buying  used ones with low miles far into the future. I don't care about the cruise control, and I just rode 26 hours in 48. Throttle lock is fine with me for the rare stretches of straight slab when I want it.

Humbly speaking, I am one of those who does think the green is the ultimate bike on the road. And I even saw one pass me by here on Bainbridge Island! It's the only color cooler than silver in my book, and yes, I will buy a green one whenever I wear out my silver.
We sit together, the mountain and me, until only the mountain remains.
