He is amazed at the fact that everything still works at 10K miles?  :o He also says it's been pretty well maintenance free. It's only 10K miles. Wait til he gets to a valve set! :D

If he's "Old school" and used to riding 70's era British bikes then being amazed about 10k miles and maintenance free would be normal.

All you gotta do is roll up your sleeves & install a Rostra cruise control. They work so good you would think it's factory  :beerchug:

Both of those cruise control installs are f****** scary.  :o (Brackets and splicing s*** and tapping and soldering and...f*** that noise) I'd rather pay someone to do it, but there's no one near me. Maybe others feel the same way?

I installed the Rostra and it is a bit difficult but certainly doable if you take your time and follow the instructions. There is lots of extra wire that can just be bundled or shortened. I also have a Throttlemeister (came with the bike). I still use it as well as the CC depending on what I'm doing. It's nice to be able to give the wrist a break in moderate traffic where a CC isn't possible.

I installed the Rostra and it is a bit difficult

That's why I installed a McCruise Cruise Control unit.
Almost plug and play,  no brackets to make or wires to splice.
Mine works better than my 4 wheel vehicles.  Would do it again in a heartbeat.  JMO.
