Title: alternative smaller mirror
Post by: chinese on November 18, 2017, 02:38:32 am
Dear Forumer

Have anyone here installed aftermarket smaller side mirror & ditch the big stock mirror away for GTR 1400.

Please advise Brand & where to purchase .

Thanks
Simon

I've not seen or read about any aftermarket mirror replacement for the C14. I modified mine with the small stick on convex mirror you can get at the auto parts store. The C14  mirrors do take some getting used to.

Same here.

I adjusted my stock mirrors so that I get as much view as I can get behind me.

That leaves an area in the stock mirrors I consider a blind spot as it shows my bags. That is where I installed small round convex mirrors. The convex mirrors now use that blind spot to show me what is immediatly on either side.

I still have a rubber neck before making any lane changes, but a quick glance in the mirrors is allways helpful.

I'm not sure you could easily remove the stock mirrors, if that's what you're thinking of, because the mirror mount holds a wellnut that helps to keep the black top fairing on.

Personally I think I would be looking for bigger instead of smaller if safety is a factor for you instead of looks.  I can never see enough around me and surely wouldn't want to worsen that condition.  But to each his own.. Good luck  ;)
