Laid down my 08.
« on: October 12, 2013, 01:26:40 pm »
I went for a 3 day ride to eastern kentucky this week. fantastic ride, but I laid down my 08 Concours at about 10MPH when I hit gravel. The gravel was so bad that my riding partner also crashed. Luckily we were able to get the bikes up, and they were both still rideable, so we were able to make it home fine. The Concours is one tough bike! I am in need of some parts, and just wanted to post to see what is out there. I need a headlight assembly, shifter linkage, left side black lower, left side silver side fairing with the Kawasaki badge, and possibly a left side saddlebag. I also posted on the emporium. Please let me know if anybody has these pieces, or knows where I can get them. They do not need to be perfect condition. I can be reached at 615 - 824 - 6116, or hpugto@gmail.com Thanks. I can't wait to get the bike fixed, and hit the road again. Mike.

Are you looking for specifically 08 silverdammit color or are you open to the red and black too?

Wow, sorry about your bad luck.  I'm part of CDA as well, but I immediately called insurance on it and it covered $4000+ in plastic and labor.  Use yours if you got it - the insurance companies are so very happy to take our money...so let them pay if you can.

I would want the silver 08 version parts. I just have liability insurance on the bike, so it is up to me to fix it. I have already found a good black lower fairing from a member. I have 30,000 miles on the bike since I bought it, and just love it. It does everything well. I plan to fix it, and put 100,000 miles on it. Thanks. Mike.

Turbomax; Yes, that's me. I still do a fair amount of work on them. Mostly for friends, and long time customers. I still have one of the ones I bought new, but it has 124,000 miles on it now. Mike.

Turbo,

I do feel your pain, I was rear ended last weekend & the bike took a hard rolling fall on left side. Left side damage was minor, cages did there job well.

Gosh Cliff, hope you didn't get hurt at all?
I assume you were stopped when this happened, and was able to ride away.
The bag picture looks like you didn't invest in the rear set. I installed the full front and rear set and thank goodness I haven't had to use them. I tend to believe they repel danger. Some don't like how wide the rear bars are, but after a while I don't notice.  I removed the pegs since they won't retract. Found them potentially more dangerous locked in the down position. Perhaps you would not be able to retain those special pegs for Jimmie. Was there any structural damage to the front bars, such as bending, or just heavy scratches? Looks like you can smooth that out and powder coat again, or even paint.

Hope to see you at Jack's next weekend.
