Ken the problem is that small rocks can get caught on top of the rear brake linkage and cause the breaks to stick. A lot of the bikes have over 30000 miles on them without problems. Check and make the brake is not binding and ride. This "do not ride" is kaw's way of trying to dodge responsibility if someone gets injured.      Sammie Timmons  74 gt380 totaled  74 gt750 totaled  80 gs850 totaled  05 vulcan 75 traded  08 c14 my baby  08 versys (my wife's)

Another thing we've seen is the rear brake light switch 'sticking' on after actuation from the pedal.  You can check this by gently pressing the pedal down and letting it come back to it's rest position slowly.  If the rear brake light stays on you need to adjust the switch to keep that from happening.    08 Concours 14  King George, VA

My 09 came with the recall repaired (backing plate to the break arm) as well as the hard bag fix. Just google Kawasaki c-14 recall to discover if you bike is in ther recall group. Most if not all 09s should be good to go.      Up
