I highly doubt it, FSM says not to remove the battery top seal for fear of leaking. Go to Battery Mart dot com amn get a AGM big crank with 220CCA and it leak proof. Have this on my ZX14, put one on the KLR and soon on the C14

I also have a Big Crank..
I'm wondering if it's an Odyssey.

I know this is an old discussion.
My battery seems weak when cranking. But is fine after running a few minutes.
I know I need to check the terminals, but I'm assuming I need to get one soon as it's a 2014.

Wondering if everyone is using a AGM battery now?

Ted, a couple of questions if you please? Does your battery stay connected to a tender and when did you buy your 2014? Mine (2014) stays connected and I bought in Oct 2015 out of a crate, but no idea if the battery was also in that crate. So far it's good, but I'm always a little skeptical of any battery, car or bike, that is 3+ years old. First sign of weakness and I replace them. Better here than some podunk c-store parking lot in SE Hooterville.

Old thread, I still have the OEM battery in the 2013 C14, its always on a tender no matter how long it sits in the garage, on one right now.

The battery leads do get loose overtime, also lower temps mean a slower engine turnover when starting that may mimic a weak battery.

Its in the mid 20's here and the KLR turns over a bit slower due to the cold and thicker oil in the CC.

If your battery is past the 5 year mark, or close to it, expect to need a new one regardless of how you maintain it.

The battery tenders put a battery that would usually last 3 without being 'maintained' with a tender to the 5 year mark.  But after that you'll still need to replace it.

I have a 2015 and I'll replace that battery at the end of 2019 regardless of how it works.

Trying to replace a battery on the road is very frustrating.  Preempt it and do it at 5 years. Thats plenty long enough.

If you are having issues now, it may be time if its not regularly topped off by a tender.
