Can she run all these at the same time?
« on: October 23, 2012, 08:26:45 pm »
Not sure what the stator capacity is but do y'all think I have enough juice to run my Gerbings jacket with the heated grips on along with my heated face shield? Thanks!

Yes, easily, and there is a lot more left in reserve. Unless you are heating your face shield with a particle accelerator in which case all bets are off (those things are really huge electricity hogs (no insult to Hogs intended) ).

Many thanks, wasn't sure if keeping fog free would be the proverbial straw to the camel.

WATT ARE YOU THINKING?  A straw camel MAY be taxing to the charging system (nevermind the home environment). Might I suggest instead a straw man... the amperage required to knock one of those over is usually way overrated.  Cool visor BTW.  ;)

I tried the Pinlock system and it works ok but this double pane, heated shield for my Scorpion in the bees knees for sure, hell it's hard to fog without even being plugged in!

Scorpion shields are already fog free.  They work very well.  I have had mine down to 28 degrees and it never fogged.  I don't think I'll ever need the electric version unless I get caught in a blizzard.

Does a heated shield keep you face nice and toasty or is that only the ones with the particle accelerator option?  ;)

C14 590 watt alternator   581 watts @ 5,000 rpm.  That leaves about 350 Watts roughly for farkles.
