I have an 09 c-14 and have had it up to 130 and was just wondering how fast others have had theirs up to. What is the top speed anyway? Is it governed like the zx-14?

The international speed limit is 300 kph or 186.41mph... In 2002 the Kaw ZZR1200 and ZX-12R and Suz 'Busa were tagged as able to exceed that, so the 2003 models and on had a speed limiter...which is why my 2002 ZZR1200 (silver) is called "the fast year" among ZZR owners.     Like it really matters though... 185, 189, etc. only on the dragstrip.   David in Jax COG# 7898   NE FL AAD & COG   Vendor www.dreamjobresumes.com preparing resumes for COG members and friends  I ride a KAWASAKI ZZR1200 -   Euro http://www.motorbikestoday.com/reviews/Articles/ZZR1200.htm  US http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/roadtests/2002_kawasaki_zzr1200/index.html

This article in Motorcyclist magazine details a makeover for a busa.     http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/features/122_0907_suzuki_gsx1300r_hayabusa/index.html    Part of the operation is switching out the gear position sensor since the speed limiter only operates in top gear.
