Does this make sense?
« on: January 26, 2018, 06:59:55 am »
This was in the owners manual.
Can anyone give a clearer explanation? :-[ " *1: Warning Indicator/Immobilizer Indicator Note
○When pushing the lower meter button with the upper meter button held in while the
warning message and warning indicator without the warning indicator/immobilizer
indicator are displayed alternately in the multifunction meter, the display
in the multifunction meter is shifted to the previous display and warning
indicator/immobilizer indicator goes on for noticing the warning message leaves."

You do this when the "LOW FUEL" is flashing in the display and you're not able to see the other information that you may want to see. It turns off the flashing "LOW FUEL" and turns on the Red Light on the instrument cluster and allows you to see the other information that you'd normally see. I normally do this when I get the Low Fuel warning and reset one of the Trip Meters so that I know how far I've traveled after the Low Fuel warning. I can normally get 40-50 miles, so I have that much distance to decide on where I'm going to re-fuel.  :great:

Clear as mud, right?  ;D

In addition to what The Pope said.

If there are multiple warnings to display you can show each warning by cycling through the display.

So, when low fuel is flashing, (if you want to see miles to empty etc) you hold down the lower and the upper button's?

From a Chinese road sign, translated directly into English: 'Go soothingly in the grease- mud, for therein lies the skid dragon'. It means the road may be slippery.....

To clear warnings (any of them) on a C-14, this is the sequence:

1) Press and hold the top button.
2) Press and release the bottom button.
3) Release the top button.

This sequence will clear one warning, which means if there are more than one, you will have to repeat this process to clear each warning (such as when the tire pressure display shows 'Low Battery' for both front and rear wheels). As each warning is cleared, the next warning will continue to display / flash until you clear all of them.

Glad you found it useful Ted. Now just watch out for that skid- demon (the one that is always lurking for us riders) and all will be well.

 :rotflmao:

I ride all year and when it the temps. drop in the fall, both tire pressure sensors trigger the 'Low Battery' warning every time the bike is shut off for more than about 6 minutes. So I have gotten to clear a LOT of those warnings. Got to the point where I can do it while riding, using my left (read: wrong) hand, with old- style Gerbing gloves on and they are about as flexible as a boxing glove....

I still have to futz through the method of setting the clock twice a year though 'cause I cannot remember that sequence.

Wait until you have had the bike long enough to get the secret encoder ring and the uber- secret KiPass incantation.... If you invoke it correctly, it will part a highway clogged with stopped traffic as you approach.   ;)

Brian

The sequence is listed below,

From a post by MattChewn:

push upper and lower buttons on dash and hold for 2 sec
push lower button to select English (if you want English)
push upper button to move down to clock after selection of language
push and hold upper button for 2 sec,  clock display should be blinking
push lower button, hours should be flashing. push upper to advance hours
push lower button, minutes flash, upper button to advance minutes
push lower button, both flash
push upper and done!

Remembering it....is another problem.

Nah, that is not how it works. First of all, you have to have had the bike for at least 18 months, and never uttered a bad word or had a bad thought about KiPass. Once that is satisfied, the gods of KiPass will contact you directly in a dream and pass along the pertinent information. The decoder ring will mysteriously show up in your cat's litter box, or the litter box of the cat that lives closest to you; if you do not find it right away, do not worry, just keep looking (and remember- no bad thoughts so think happy thoughts).

Once you have the ring and know the incantation, you too will have reached nirvana and will find rainbows really do have a beginning place.....

Of course, opposing these conditions <may> anger the gods of KiPass and frankly, the consequences of that are too terrible to even consider. Remember, they never call it 'Good JuJu'.

Believe it or not, Rockwell Automation is a real company (as is Allen Bradley, and yes, they are owned by R.A.) and they actually make some of the slickest Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) available. Absolutely state of the art. So while that is a humorous video, those backing it are no one's fools: it would be sort of like Stephen Hawking making fun of very dark brown holes (Easy Boys!).

I never read that section either.

I didn't know you could override this annoyance and suffered through the half hour or hour ride with the stupid fuel warning going off vs the data I wanted.

Glad I know I can do it now for next time I go cross country.
