Dual Exhaust (I know beat to death)
« on: August 14, 2019, 10:12:31 pm »
I did search for a long time through the forums and have been studying for awhile.

Is there a way or how are you guys mounting the left exhaust now that the Muzzy's bracket no longer exists?

I believe I found some post where a guy welded a new plate to his passenger peg but I was hoping for an easier way.

Thanks!

Connie Rider should chime in shortly, he has done all of the experimentation with dual exhaust on the C-14.

Since Muzzy no longer exists, and there is probably no patent protections on an exhaust hanger, what about finding a job shop or 3D printer to fab a few copies? The original sold for about $80, iirc.

If I had info on the bracket I would love to model it up and have it cut.

I don't even know what it looks like.

Message Ted (connie rider) and he can hook you up with all of the info you need. Can't believe he hasn't responded yet.

I have been looking at this and think I cold easily with some round stock and the factory left side bracket mirror the right with the exhaust mount. That is as long as it is aluminum and not magnesium or pot metal. I have entertained the idea of designing a full system for myself and in the process making jigs for repeatability.

I'd love just to look at the one Muzzy created and I am sure I can make something work.

Maris, I replied to your PM. Give me a call.
I duplicated the hangar on the right side. {as Grant is planning}
  ie; I used the right side hangar dimensions; machined a piece of aluminum tubing, and welded it to the left rear footpeg bracket.
       Had 2 problems when I did that.
          The left rear footpeg bracket is cast aluminum and difficult to weld.
          The OEM rubber bushings {that go inside the hangar} are not readily available thru Kawasaki.
I too would like to see a Muzzy Hangar as reproducing/installing it would be easier to do.

Grant; Better Less expensive/effort than building your own system;
            Delkevic has recently started to offer a 4 into 1 full system, and are supposedly working on a 4 into 2 full system.
               They "do" sell the header as a 4 into 2 header, but don't offer a left mid pipe and muffler.
                   (I used a ZX-14 header and built my own left mid pipe)
             Several have installed the Delk. 4 into 2 systems and we're waiting for ride reports {hint/hint} and a flash for the system.
                   (Steve reports that he is developing a flash)

Ride safe, Ted

I'll be there.

PS: Do you have a Muzzy hangar on yours? If yes, please post photo of it.
