Fred Harmon – Texas’ loss is Arkansas’ gain
« on: June 14, 2019, 10:27:07 pm »
I just returned from having my C14 serviced by Fred Harmon.  It was a very positive experience, his work is excellent and thorough, prices are more than fair, scheduling is accommodating, and his wife is a delightful lady that will make you her new best friend.  For me this was also an easy excuse for a leisurely road trip through some of Arkansas’ finest roads and scenery.  Since my work was expected to take a whole day, I stayed at one of the many local hotels.  Next day, I went home the long way, enjoying the ride with the C14 in tip-top shape and a smile at how sweet this bike runs.

Fred’s moved from Fort Worth, TX to Mountain Home, AR, so anyone needing service and close enough to make the trip now has an excellent option.

His email address is fredharmon@att.net.

I think mine was the last one he did in Texas. It was a job well done!! Next valve adjust will be done by him in Arkansas I guess but it will be at over 100K before I will need it done again so I may be shopping for a newer C14 by then. Not many people I would trust for this work but he is on the top of my short list.
In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they aren't. Without data you are just another guy with an opinion.

Great to hear. If I don't do it again myself (with support from a colleague), I may take mine to Fred's new digs, which will be closer for me ... coming from N. AL. Would be awesome ride, going and coming.  :great:

Thanks MFW for including Fred's email address.  I'm going to need his services after the National.

There used to be a guy named Matt in the DC area that did this kind of service. Forgot his forum name. I heard he was very good.
