Title: Front brake dive
Post by: Hosspower on April 23, 2018, 11:12:32 pm
New to the Concours, 3 weeks on it. When I hit the front brake, I get initial dive in the front end then it firms up. On the initial dive it is like there is no resistance. Is this normal? I don't remember it on my other bike. The bike has 3,500 miles and it only happens when I pull the front brake lever by itself, much less noticeable when using both brakes.
Thanks for any advice!
Rob

These bikes, as assembled, come here adjusted for a 145# rider.. you need to adjust the forks, and also the headlights, per the owners manual, adding more resitance to the preload on them, and to get the headlight aiming proper..

Did you get an owners manual with this bike?
Its all 'splained there how to do this.. if not, I'll post a link for you to get a free one from Kaw.. ;)

No problemo, glad to assist...

The forks are quite adjustable as OEM stuff goes, crank on the adjust hex nut, a couple turns, to the next "line" marking, that should help ya... but do read about the suspension adjust features on both the forks, and the rear shock.. at 200#, and also carrying my wife, and simetimes pulling a trailer, it is valuable to know, and note what you have to fiddle with..

Enjoy your new bike,
Ride safe
