New to me C-14
« on: September 05, 2016, 12:25:01 am »
Well guys today is the day. I sold my C-10 and picked up a 2008 C-14
I met the seller at the top of Blood Mt. (yall know where that is ) and rode it home in the dark so I was pretty cautious coming home. I did run it down the hwy for a short distance. Its very hard to keep it under 80  or 90  or 110 or..well I stopped there  ;D dont need a ticket.
I know yall will want pics so ill get one up tomorrow. but its the silver non ABS one. 22,400 miles and very well taken care of.
Came with two seats and two windscreens and an extra brand new unused set of avon tires ( the Michelin pilots look to have plenty of life left on them)
Bag liners and a few other things . Im stoked!!

Sounds like a good package deal. Congrats.

I have something to say about your numbers... I know exactly how you feel. Mine is happy above 80 and happiest above 90. There is no sensation of speed on this bike. Concours@90 feels slower than my Taurus at 70. It can be a ho-hum riding experience at the speed limit. Ride safe.

Congrats on the new ride. I know you were checking that bike out pretty good before you pulled the trigger (if it's the same one). I've found the Connie gets real smooth at speed. It took me a few months to get used to it after riding the C10 for just shy of 10 years. I'm hooked now.

My wife and I went for a ride this morn. One thing I noticed last night was I was having a hard time being smooth off and back on throttle so I adjusted the cable this morn and raised the idle a tick and checked my clutch fluid which was over full so I took a smidge out..
We rode the wolf pen gap ride and took 60  to Skeena Gap back home.
The c-14 is a dream to ride and if you need to pass a car ..well itll do it !!
Im still struggling with smoothness getting back on the throttle but its better.
I find if i let off the throttle to decelerate  when i start to roll the throttle back on it has a jerky spot. Is this what Steve's flash smooths out?

Stanley, yes. That's one of the many benefits of Steve's flash.
