I had an exhaust cam sensor go bad at about 26,000. Timing couldn't have been any better. It broke, or rather decided to go bad in my garage, which was just after I returned from a cross country trip

Isnt it weird how those things happen?  I just got back from a 3400 miler...not a thing went wrong...weather was perfect, traffic was light. Two days after I got back, I ran a screw into my rear tire, and the zipper on both boots went kablooey!

Interesting how few problems and replies.  If you assume the lack of response means no issues than the bike is very reliable.   Hard to think we are not starting to see hose failures on bikes over 100k but I am good with it not happening.  The fact that no other common failures are showing up is very encouraging.

Please report if you have not.  I  still think this helps everyone.

I am liking what I don't see   :great:

I had an '09 and put 36k on it, no problems.  Only 3000 on my 2013, knock on wood   ;D, no problems except not riding it enough.

Dang itl Avoided this thread as long as I could. 2011. Over 55k now. Dreaded cam sensor leak, rear drive seal leak (warranty) blown front fork seal, blown front axle bearing somewhere in TX. Pretty short list. Coast to Coast 5x's and South to North 4 or 5x's. TPMS batt's changed once, Kipass batt changed once. Still on the stock batt (bless you battery tender).

I am noticing a pattern here. Bikes with higher mileage have less issues.  ;)

Hi,
It is interesting, that there are so few "problem" stories here! :beerchug:

I'm a long way from being a litmus paper on this, no more than I get to ride! (job) :(

I bought the extended warranty in 2013 on my 2012, good to 2018! :great:

So far, wasted money, and I do my own maintenance! ::)

For those listing actual failures, it would be great to know if the original or warranty or extended warranty(s) covered the failures.   ::)  For me, no failures or claims yet after 55,000 miles.    I'm on year six of nine years of warranty coverage.

Stevefl post up!?!?!?!  Bought the bike from him somewhere over the 100k mile, probably 110k mile, I don't remember. Reaching the 118k miles and no problems. I bought this bike knowing it was well taken care of, Even took it to the track with over 115k miles on it. Going to go over the whole thing, so we can do a 2 to 3 month US, Alaska and some Mexico trip in a couple years.

Had the TPMS front sensor changed at 14K and the rear at 14.5K. Both were covered by warranty. I do all of my own maintenance and the bike is at 45K. So far, so good. I just need to ride more.

I bought my demo 2008 in early 2010.   It had @ 1200 miles on it.

Its my second bike, and sat quite a bit, so the miles are still pretty low, at 12,000.

My only failure was the stock battery.  It only lasted 9 years......piece of junk...lol

Ive always left the battery connected to the Battery tender jr, the cheap one.  I can't speak highly enough about the jr...

My 09 battery died, on the road with the wife of course, in 12. After two tow trucks and a friend with a pickup I got it home. The wife was given a ride home by another in the group, on a BMW :( . We stopped for a road construction flagman and everyone shut down for the 20-30 minute wait. Turned on the key and not enough juice to lite up the dash. When I had the battery load tested it showed good, twice. Hammer tested the battery followed by another load test. Not good. New battery and always on the Tender even if just overnight.

Actually I thumped it on the counter a couple of times, not to hard. It then load tested to 4.1 v. Had an intermittent fault.
