Scheduled a test ride of a new 2016 C-14 in black. The dealership had to service the bike for the fist time just so I can ride it, they are asking $12,998. What do you guys think? Anyone have anyone have any negotiation tactics I should take with me?

Show them the add on cycletrader for a 2017 @ $11,688!
I looked at cycletrader again and the same dealer had a 17 advertised @ $10 something!
Got a link to that? My quick trip through Cycle Trader found prices higher than what my dealer is asking with the exception of one 2016 pre owned with 1900 miles on it.
Not sure I would want to bring up Cycle Trader to negotiate for a lower price.
The one I saw is advertised by a dealer in Irvine ,Ca. Is not the OTD price but I got a e-mail from him with OTD , and if my local dealer won't make me a better deal with on a 16 I will be heading to So Cal soon for a 17!

Ok they came down but not as much as I would like. Sent an email thanking the sales person for her efforts and informed her I am still interested but in no hurry, also asked her to keep me informed if she can either negotiate a little more or if the bike sells.

That's a great price - local dealer here in CT trying to get $12k for a 2014 with 1400 miles!

Hope you can work out a deal to get the new Concours.  I purchased a grey 2016 about 20 months ago, and love this bike!  Worth it even at the higher price I paid since the 2016 models had just arrived then.  My opinion is that it's better to pay a little more and get the bike from a local dealer.

Does it have to be a 2016?  Here's a dealer in OK that is offering a NEW 2015 for under $10K.  Do a fly-and-ride.  A plane ticket will save you thousands.  Contact the dealer directly on these EBAY ads.  You have to go there anyway to take delivery in person.

I have a 2015 and I really liked it. I got it flashed and now I love it.

Little update, I planned on getting the red 2013 and got my financing pre approval and was headed for Oregon to pick it up. However the reason this bike was such a good deal is it was a Kawasaki demo bike and had 8,000 miles on it and no warranty. Before going to Oregon for a 2014 with 8,000 miles on it I stopped at Paulson's with bank check in hand to try one more time at the 2016 that was truly a brand new bike and the took it. So I am now the owner of a 2016 C 14, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!

This is in my friends drive way he and I took a short ride before I even got home with it. It still only has 61 miles on it. Washington should thank me as I am helping to put out our fires by buying a new bike I have started the rain  :rotflmao:

Grant,

Congrats on the new C-14.
I looked for several months for a 2015/2016 that was in my price range.
I was able to find a grey 2016 w/285 mi on it at a dealer 90 miles from my house.
Out the door at 10,990. I couldn't resist.
Others may correct me but I think there were a some of upgrades made in the 2015 and carried over to the 16 and 17. Those include the new windshield w/vent, a new first gear with better ratio for low speed handling and starts, improved bias for the linked brakes and different rear shock and/or settings for improved 2-up riding. The handle bar risers and fluid reservoir's are now black.

I have added a few farkles so far, but straight out of the box, this bike is the most capable ride I've ever owned. I'm sure you'll find this out soon enough.
Enjoy and ride safe!!!

The bike now has now gone over 800 miles and got it's oil and diff fluids changed for the first time.
Sure is a nice ride not looking forward to having to put her away for the winter, she is just now starting to run noticable better as she is breaking in. Just haven't had enough riding time yet all I have had is commuting to work and back, hop nothing stands in the way of me making next year's Bunn Cooler (the fist NW COG ride of the season) my first COG event...

Grant,

I didn't notice earlier, but your avatar looks to be a "E" model F-4, is that right?
I worked on them for 4 years while in the USAF.

Not sure that's just a random stock photo. I was Marine Corps and when I worked on Phantoms they where RF-4 B's. I was a hydraulic mechanic in VMFP-3 a photo reconnaissance Squadron.

For the last active F4 Squadron, when VMFP-3 and the Phantoms where decommissioned I went to c-130s became aircrew and finally a crew chief.

I worked on the E model starting in 72  in Tampa.
Avionics Instrument Systems Tech.
Two tours in SEA and ended up with 40th ARRS rescue-recovery helicopter squadron.
Got lots of flight time with them.
I accompanied 9 of our birds for a 2 week stay on the USS Midway, CVN-41 during the Saigon evacuation.

Thank you for your service!
