MRA X-CREEN or just get new wind screen?
« on: May 21, 2016, 06:38:23 am »
Hey guys.

I have the cee bailey euro cut 15" tall windscreen. I'm 6' 1" and in the full up position the wind is smacking the top of my head pretty good. Need ear plugs and it's just plain annoying.

I was thinking of adding the MRA x creen spoiler as I've heard it's good, but maybe I should just go for a bigger screen? I feel I would want at least the 19" tall model.

What's do yall think is the better option? Any screen recommendations? I want a nice quiet ride so I can relax.

Thanks for any help. Cheers

I have on my wish list the Easy adjust  Madstad windshield system.

But X-creen looks x-citing too.
I am getting older  and if I can hold off a little longer I should shrink to the right size and save 100 bucks.

Like several others, I've been through several screens. I've settled on 3.
One is VERY short. (chopped)....quiet....for local, hot weather riding.
One is VERY tall (Calsci XL wide)....quiet....for cold weather.
And the MRA Vario Touring....not quiet, but no buffeting....for most of my riding.

Your not gonna get quiet without going very tall, or very short.

Hi,
I've got the MRA Vario and love it but...... :o

I'm 6'7" and I'm not really trying to get behind a screen! ;D ;D ;D

I would suggest the Madstadt bracket before you do anything. Makes a big difference in how the air flows, and is adjustable to your preference.

I thought I needed a taller shield to hide behind.
Cliff suggested a MRA Vario {shorter than stock}, got one and love it.
Liked it so much I built a MRA style spoiler for my {mucho shortened} C-10 shield.
It also works better than the taller shield..

As I'm only 5'-9" I can't say if a MRA Vario would be tall e'nuff for you guys over 6'.
I suspect the MRA X-screen spoiler will do you a good job.

Ride safe, Ted

Which is better Laminar Lip or MRA- creen ? I’ve been contemplating the Laminar.

Having tried both, the MRA spoiler was far better and the fact that its adjustable beats the laminar lip in terms of adjusting wind deflection IMHO.
