MRA X-creen
« on: December 09, 2018, 10:05:58 pm »
Anybody running this shield or have any feedback?
I prefer looking over a short tinted shield, as apposed to the the huge touring shields. I like the size and appearance and have had good luck on other bikes, just looking for feedback on the Connie14 before laying out the cash.

Thanks Robertv, I finally found the reviews I was looking for in previous posts here and online. (after I posted)
This is what I'm looking for. I ride in Florida heat and this gives smooth airflow with the vents, smaller size which I prefer and the top spoiler which I love. The best deal is with SOLOMOTO as taxes and shipping are included.

I use the MRA Vario on mine.
I found that it gives me better protection than the stock shield even though it is a much lower shield.

Price seems high.    https://www.twistedthrottle.com/brand/mra-motorcycle-windshields_windshield-extensions

Those prices are for the top spoiler shield only, not the tinted combo. Thanks for looking.

Pretty much the same response on their web-site, I've never read so many positive reviews (although it is their web-site)

Thanks for your input Ted :great:

Just to be sure you understand the difference;  You originally posted the X-creen, and  I'm using the Vario which is shorter and uses a different type hinge.

If it helps you in your decision; I'm 5'-9", seat lowered about an inch, and I have the Tinted version.

Ride safe, Ted

Thanks Ted, the MRA Vario is currently out of stock, backordered as is the Black Vance & Hines CS One slip on I want. Nobody wants my money :D Can't even tell me when production will start again, other than after 1st Quarter.

I have the Vario also & love it. I'm just just shy of 6' & my seat is 1 1/2" taller than stock if that helps any.

Thanks Cliff, it does help as I'm 6' also.

I wrote to MRA Germany as the Vendors could not define the difference and that was disturbing as the price difference between the two is $120 bucks.

Response from MRA Germany...

Hello,
Thank you for sending your email.
The big difference between the screens is the upper spoiler.

The X-Creen spoiler can be adjusted independently of the height, as well as the distance to the base screen. As a result, X-Creen can be optimally adjusted to the individual needs of the driver.

And the Vario-Touring spoiler can easily be adjusted into one of seven positions to suit your (and your passenger´s) needs.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Best regards
