mud flap?
« on: February 08, 2018, 02:29:18 pm »
I just got a new front fender on e-bay to replace the one I broke in an accident.  I see it comes with an extension on the back.

Is that there to keep road grime out of my radiator?

Yes, or to reduce that problem, anyway. There's a Canadian guy on the forum who goes by Blue One, that sells front and rear fender extenders.

As noted, that is an aftermarket add-on fender extender and there are a number of them on the market.  The idea is that this can help keep debris from being kicked up by the front tire and getting thrown into the radiator causing damage.  I believe these do help that but a radiator guard is still in order to keep other debris other than that from the front tire from damaging your radiator.

The geometry is such that on the's C14s, radiators get damaged regularly.  I Dont know why.

I Rode an R1 for 30K and never had issues with that.  But My C14 didnt have 15 miles on it and I had a front radiator guard on it.
