Left handlebar switch crack
« on: May 04, 2012, 10:56:12 pm »
My left handlebar switch has developed a fairly good sized crack about a 1/4" long (so far) near the base of the headlight switch.  This just happened this week and I'm confused how this could happen?
Maybe I'm flashing the left-laner's too much?   >:D

Warrantable item, you think?

I don't see any add ons of modifications that you would have had it apart. So unless there's something there that we can't see, I see no reason why it would not be replaced under warranty.

A friend of mine wondered if maybe the screw had been overtightened at some point?  It does come in right there from the back.  If it had been under constant pressure from over-torquing (add in constant vibration through the handlebars) I suppose that might explain why it just recently developed a crack.  I'll show the dealer and see what they say.

Thanks!  :motonoises:
