Rich I was certain I didnt want another silver bike had my heart set on a get a ticket red, go to jail green or even the blue light special  but I made the mistake of going to look at it and in person this color is way way better than any pic I had seen.  I fell for it immediately.
I took the V stream off today and ran the stock. I think its fine  especially for the summer. I may run it a while.
The linked brakes are different. Im a front brake guy so its odd to me to press the rear brake  and get front end dive . But its a good  mix between the rear and front and stops great. I dont see me using the rear pedal any more than I do now though. Haven't tried the more aggressive mode yet. Dont think I would like it at all.
Is the gear ratios different on these compared to the 08?

'15 +, 1st gear is lower than previous years.

OK so next question for those in the know. It has a Two Brothers Titanium slip on.
He gave me an extra Power tip/DB killer  (P1 Power tip).   I guess the stock is in it. Which do I run or neither? Sound is good now but a tick more volume wouldn't bother me.
Asking because i thought I read a post about removing the DB killers for a small gain in HP

Ok I guess I answered My question . The one in it was choked down.
The extra one, no choking.   Sounded a little deeper but hard to discern in the shop.
None at all sounds the best to me .  Has a good throaty bass sound .  I think this will give a small HP gain or at least I'll go loud :motonoises:

I run my Two Brother w/ no db choke in and prefer it, but each have differing reasons for their selection. I like the extra HP and sound; not noisy like the Harley's I used to have ...

I have a 2015. I use what I believe is called "Mountain Mode" or something like that. To me, it just feels like brakes should feel. The brakes on the 15 are amazing. Try it - to me, that is how brakes should work.

The two modes on the brakes , one is recommended for mountain /curvy road riding and the other mode is recommended for two up and more slab style riding!

Thanks I tried both modes.  Im not getting it.  If I just use the rear i get front brake also . More front on the more aggressive mode. But if I use the rear brake . then the front it feels odd to me. Like the front lever is too stiff. maybe I better read the manual lol.

Congrats on the new toy!!

Take it out and try to teach force yourself to use front lever only.
Yes::: I know {after years of doing it our way} that it is hard to do.. :-[
But it works well, as it applies the front, and all the rear you need.

Just ride it and use the front most of  the time. Use the back sometimes when you think about it to build some muscle memory, because you'll jump on both when you really need to stop by reaction. When you hit both hard, you'll STOP.

You'll get used to it.

Co as it applies the front, and all the rear you need.

I didnt realize its applying rear as I use the front. I pretty much use the front exclusively unless in hard straight line stops. I dont understand the thinking behind linked brakes. So far I dont care for them but It hasnt hurt/or helped my riding style.

I still use some rear brake regardless (but that's just me), from MSF training and in the event I need to hop on a non-linked bike. I use the rear brake exclusively for slow, tight-turn maneuvers w/ clutch level in friction zone and some throttle

Me either, really. I THINK (might be wrong about this) that using the front applies part of the pistons and using both front/rear at once uses all of the  pistons. Might have been an idea to smooth the total power into a smaller and bigger bite combo. I'm sure someone will correct me, pretty soon... :D

Ok Chaps!  p.153-154 in the Owner's Manual.  'When using the front brake lever, the right and left front calipers and rear brake operate.  When using the rear brake pedal, the rear brake and the right front caliper operate.'  Interesting read.  Grab a beer and go through the entire thing, hint.. :)
