Re-Badging
« on: June 09, 2019, 11:16:12 pm »
I am re-badging my bike, attempting to make it look a little different. I found a GTR1400 badge as well as a ZG1400 badge and ordered them both to check the quality before installing. More pics to come when they arrive. After installing the "Japanese Ninja", I am having second thoughts, my plan was to place the GTR1400 on the lower black plastics following the same angle as the plastic. I was intending to remove the stock Kawasaki and the Concours14. I wanted a classic look, not so sure? Does the Japanese add character or look cheap?
Opinions are welcomed.

what we think doesn't matter. it's your bike if you like it that is the only thing that counts. :beerchug:

Good morning Tundra!  Excellent idea.  Really looks cool, FWIW.  Just make sure that's the Kanji for 'Ninja' and not for 'soup' or 'flatulent butterfly!'

I’m very seriously considering purchasing and applying the fat ninja decals to mine. Clarification for curious folks.
Does someone make “kwikasfuki” raised chrome badges?

I like the idea of removing the Kawasaki and Councour14. Leave the Japanese Kanji lettering and replace the Concours 14 with the GTR1400. Just my .02.

Tundra,
Your bike looks great!  I like the Kanji Characters.  For mine, I also went with Fat Ninja on the side plates in front of the bags, and Black Gel Kawasaki on the fairings.  I could not find raised gel emblems for Concours or Fat Ninja anywhere, so went with a two layer applique from www.signspecialist.com and they did a great job. The hardest part was selecting the best typeface from among their extensive selection of them.

Also, went with a vanity plate.  Something I never thought I would want but now it seems right.  Check out the photos of the results.
Keep going, looks good!

Gilbysan, That looks fantastic, especially on your Blue!!

Now I remember where I received the idea from, I must have seen pictures of your bike previously and it stuck in my brain. I like the gel black allot on your Blue, although probably wouldn't be visible on mine. Yes, I will continue as soon as I receive the GTR14 from over sea's.

Thanks for the good words.

Thanks Tundra,  Yours is going to be nice as well.  What I enjoy about this forum is the free exchange of ideas and good, honest energy and passion about riding and the Connie.  I believe that this forum and its members make up two of the vital ingredients that make this a great country in which to live.

I bought my '12 from a Harley dealer on the Peninsula; the only non-Harley in the whole place.  It was Red like yours and I wanted to replace my '13 in Blue so it was painted.  I am curious where you sourced your GTR1400 emblems?  Are there more available?
I tried GTR1400 and 1400GTR appliques with a couple different typefaces but couldn't quite get the look I visualized, ergo, Fat Ninja.

See you on the road somewhere...
