Rear Brake-Non-ABS 2010
« on: October 01, 2017, 10:41:10 am »
Question for the gurus. I have to press very firmly on the rear brake to get any real braking effect from the rear. I've taken the rear caliper off and cleaned it up, bled the line and installed different pads but still get the same performance. Is this by design or do I have a caliper that needs some more in depth service? 99% of my braking is with the fronts but I would like a better feel from the rear.  Thanks for your thoughts.

I've always thought that the rear brake on my 09 was pretty weak.  I almost always use both brakes, but it doesn't seem like the rears do very much compared to the other bikes I've owned.

The rear on my '08 has always had a 'wooden' feeling.

Don't they have linked brakes?

The rear brake on my 09 non-abs doesn't feel much different than other bikes I've owned. It has enough sensitivity for light braking or given enough pressure will lock the rear wheel.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like my rear is working the way Kawasaki wants it to. I wish it felt more like the C10 but I can live with it.
