Replacing the clutch line w/braided Galfer.
« on: November 18, 2017, 10:33:48 pm »
For those who have done it, did you route the new cable the same way the OEM did or did you go another route?
I ask this cause I just finished the brake lines & decided to look at the clutch route. I also noticed the OEM gets much smaller by the coolant overflow.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Just looked at my clutch line that was replaced by a Galfer SS line.  I do not remember if it is routed the same as the stock line but it is routed in front of the top triple clamp, below the L/H air intake, inside if the "Y" shaped brace, very close to the throttle bell crank down past the coolant reservoir and down to the clutch.  It is held securely by several nylon tie wraps, especially near the throttle bell crank. It has been that way for four or five years with no problems.
Hope this helps.

Thanks SW, it does!
There's a ton of stuff in front and just couldn't see how the OEM line was being held on. I did slide my fingers behind the mess and did notice there was more room than it looked!!!
