Rostra puzzle
« on: March 23, 2018, 12:31:56 pm »
Ok, I've installed the rostra cruise with the dash control panel without the "engaged" light. The cruise works beautifully....but....when I don't have the cruise in the "on" position, when I hit the brake the "on" light comes on when I release the brake. I'm using a relay cause I have an led brake light. What''s up with this?

Re-check your wiring.  I suspect you have an incorrect connection or possibly a faulty ground to the system.

I've been over the wiring and all appears to be as shown on the diagrams. I suspect a ground problem too, but was wondering if anyone had seen this particular issue before.

Fixed. I had one dip switch on that should have been off. I had checked the dip switches more than once and just flat missed it. I blame it on my 71 year old eyes and the fact that those dip switches are tiny. I literally spent hours testing grounds, power leads, bought another dash control, talked to Rostra, Dakota digital.....nothing. One simple dip switch made me feel like a dip s***.

Nice work sir, I hadn't gotten my Rostra to work yet.  Can't get the actuator to engage, will be tearing the bike down next week to give it another shot...
