seat interchangability
« on: July 24, 2018, 11:49:30 am »
Hello All, new member here. I've got what might be a dumb question.  Forgive me.
I have a 2009 c14 (bought used) that came with a corbin seat. It's killing me.
I can see used c14 OEM seats for various model years all over ebay for cheap.
so my question is - are all years of c14 seats interchangeable?  for example, would a seat from a '12 c14 fit my 09?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

You might want to try some of the other members in your area. I'm sure they would like to swap seats for a while. There are several seats available and many people do not like the stock seat at all. I'm sure a lot of people would like to try the Corbin or would be willing to trade for it.

Got a zx14 seat for mine, all I had to do was flip the mounts around (on the seat, they look like hooks)

I have two seats I am willing to part with. One off of a 2012 and one off of a 2017. I live just north of Atlanta.

Where in the Southeast are you located?
My bike came with a Corbin and I hated it as well. Many people love the Corbin seats though. I great option is to sell the Corbin and have a custom seat made from a stock seat pan. Baldwin, Seth Laam, and Russell are fantastic options for building a seat. If you don't go crazy with upgrades, the Corbin will almost pay for the new seat to be built.

hi all, thanks for so many great answers and suggestions!  what a great community of helful riders ive stumbled upon!

the corbin seat that is on the bike has a little finish damage to it but that wasnt my complaint. i just hate the way it sits. it hurts, and puts the passenger up too high for her comfort as well.  ive owned an 09 once before and liked the oem seat.

i got to looking around yesterday on the web  and found one for less than a hundred bucks (shipped) and in almost new condition from a 2012. so- i bought it.  with any luck, i will be replacing that corbin this weekend.

with that said, i have no desire to keep the corbin. im sooooo done with it. im located about 3.5 hours south of atlanta in valdosta. So,  after i get the oem seat installed,  if anybody wants this corbin to try out, or for thier own use (not to resell) just come and get it!  im sure this site has some way to send me a PM. i’ve not poked around the cog forum tools too much yet.

thanks again to everyone for the helpful suggestions!
