Seth Laam seat
« on: December 20, 2018, 10:23:30 pm »
I've been looking for a new seat, thinking Seth Laam as Corbin doesn't like my butt. The website is nice with pics although no pics of the seat on the bike. Does anyone have a seat pic mounted they could share? Also no pricing unless you give all your info. and build it, what's the price point on these?

Someone has one for sale in the C14 ads section with pics (not on the bike though). Not sure what prices are when new and built since mine came with it already...

I've got the same Seth Laam seat that Robertv has on his and I REALLY like it a lot! Not sure what the original price was since I bought it essentially new on this forum.  The other member subsequently wound up going with the Kawasaki Touring seat and has stated he prefers it.  He told me he had the Laam made to the approximate original seat height and our inseam and weight were roughly similar which was good.  I definitely prefer it to the OEM on my 2015 and can do really long rides without discomfort.  I often tended to wind up "humping" the tank some, even when I kept my knees fairly tight on the Tech Spec tank pads.

I've heard the Corbin C-14 seat is very firm.  I KNOW the Corbin Fast Gun on one of my Rockets is VERY firm and although it feels way different than seats on any other bike I've ever owned, it actually works fine for long rides.  It seems like it wouldn't be comfortable but it actually is.  However, since it doesn't have any "give/sag", I tend to slide on it some when my right hand gets overly aggressive... >:D

Today is the production date for my Russell Day Long seat.   I'm looking forward to receiving it in about 10 days.  I have one on my Honda ST1100 and it's great.

Can't give you any info on the Laam seat.  But a lot of IBA LD Riders swear by the RDL seat, after spending a lot of $$$ on other seats first.

Are there any custom seat shops in your area? Bitchin Stichin in Denver will be modifying my stock seat this spring. Spend a day in their shop, they check the current fit, adjust the foam, test fit, adjust and send you on your way. Ride for a while and will adjust again if needed. Estimated at $130-150. Highly recommended by the local riders.

Maybe you can find a shop close by to do the same.

Tundra, I have a Seth Laam I've been thinking about selling. I switched to the Kawa Touring seat which fits me better. The seat is vinyl and looks like the photo posted in this thread. PM me if interested.

I have the Kawasaki touring  seat on my bike now and it is much better then the stock seat but it still leans me forward somewhat, may end up selling both and getting  Russel Day Long seat!

i also went from the laam to the kaw touring seat. laam just didn' ;)t suit me even after a rework. quality of seat wasn't an issue, just didn't work for me..

Tried the Laam, and it did not work for me. It potentially could have worked better if the material he used was non slip.

Went to the Kawi touring seat. It's pretty good for 200-300 mile days. Anything longer and I would want a better seat like an RDL.

What cover did you get? Mine doesn’t slip it is just to high in the back of the pocket so I am having him cut it down , can’t recall what my cover material is called , maybe asphalt!

I just got this new one from a guy who ordered and rode on it for 20 miles and liked his stock better!!  It was built for 220lbs  5'9 guy with 32 inseam, I am bigger and only have been on it for about 20 miles myself but feels good so far. I had about every seat even the RDL which was comfy but ugly , so we will see how this one works, it is different then most I see as the area behind rider is built up

Hope it works well for you!
