shift lever

while installing my hid  lights had all the left side panels off , thought well nows the time to just have a good look see  around that side of the bike,   well found my shift lever about to fall off the splined shaft   q fix ,  might  be an item to check

Interesting. I don't think I have heard of anyone having this problem until now. Although I could be wrong. But it only takes two seconds to check.

yep bob first time for everything,  could  be a royal pain if it feel off on  a trip in the middle of  bfe with no tools

I have had a shift lever fall off, but not on the Concours 14. Your speculation that it would be a pain in the arse is true! I carry vise grips on that bike, and I used it as a temporary shift lever.

When I bought my first Harley, I took my wife for a ride and the shifter peg fell off.  I shifted with my toe under the lever and back tracked and found it in the gutter...  bike was 1 week old... :-[
