Speed Bleeder Install Help
« on: May 31, 2018, 01:34:36 am »
I just picked up the speed bleeders from Murph's to help me change out my brake and clutch fluids. I've never changed out a bleed valve before, how should I go about changing them out? Does anyone have a link to a how to or can provide some instructions?

I apologize if this has already been beat to death. I searched all over and couldn't find the answer to my question.

Try this video.  It explains everything you need to know to install and how to bleed your lines.

I did mine like the video. Just unscrew the original ones and screw in the speed bleeders. Then bleed the lines. I don't think I got any air in. Leave the cap on the reservoir.

umm.... :-\ :-[
toss a big plastic garbage bag, and an old towel over the tank, and fairings near the master cylinders... before removing the screws... then, pull each cap off, and make sure the reservoir is full, and set the cap back on, without the screws.... don't leave the cap off.... it will spritz B/F out... and make a mess... just set the cap back on... and keep an eye on the level, refilling before it is empty....

Yes, of course you protect the paint. That should be understood. But I left the caps in place and there was very little leakage. Just don't touch the brakes. And I didn't need to refill the reservoir until bleeding because very little leaked out. YMMV.
