Does anyone know the actual bearing number. I'd much rather get Timkin than unknown quality.

Did a quick search and all that I found was:

Dennis Kirk's info on the all balls

All Balls Steering Stem Bearings - 22-1039

Two 32907 JR-2 bearings with races

BEARING DIMENISIONS:
Inside Diameter: (2)35mm
Outside Diameter: (2)55mm
Width: (2)11mm

Hope it helps.

I attempted to do the same. Checked Timken and SKF. Neither of them make this specific size taper bearing.
I did however find them from NTN. 32907x

Deepsea, are you going with the All Bearings or the NTN do you think?    And thanks MOB for the part numbers.

All Balls are made in China of unknown quality steel. They have no ABEC (Annular Bearing Engineering Committee (ABEC ) of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA)) rating and only their own part number that can not be cross referenced to any other company that I can find.
They are probably "Ok" bearings and even a really cheep bearing will work in the neck, until it doesn't. I use my C14 both on the street and at the track as well as occasionally running it at LSR meets. I will go with the NTN bearing knowing they meet the ASTM standards.

If you have lots of money get aerospace bearings. They only cost about what we paid for our bikes. :'(

Wow, sorry... my mind is going fast.... it was just a month ago when I went on the search and info mission for this for another person....

Here was my result....

http://forum.cog-online.org/concours-14-zg1400-general-chat-and-tech/steering-stem-bearing-size/msg631327/#msg631327

Also, for reference, the OEM ball bearing, SF07A17PX1V1 (NTN#)  is dimensionally. 35mm x 55mm x 14.5mm

Hope that helps..

I would imagine given the application, the All Balls kit is just fine. Maybe some day I’ll buy a set strictly for destructive testing and metallurgy from the local lab here in SLC. The nice thing about their kit though, it comes with a new seal.

Yes, that is an added benefit of their kit.. the seals....  but Kaw sells them also,
Top and bottom differ,
Pre 2015 top seal 92049-0091
2015 and up top seal 92049-0742
All bottom seals were 92049-0022

Yes...Thanks, MOB!  The part number 32907 JR-2 crossed to 14mm wide bearings.  The Dennis Kirk site was in error and I didn't know enough to question it.
