Hello Concours Owners,

Slick56 here from snowy and cold Calgary Alberta. Patiently waiting for riding season.

Happy to share that I installed the Heli-risers on my Concours 14. Has made a world of difference comfort wise. Don’t let anyone tell you that and extra 2.5 inches doesn’t make a difference.

Do you Concours riders have any suggestions for new driver footpegs and upgraded seat for
A 2016 Concours 14.

Slick56
Great riding country here in Alberta. Enjoy the Rockies. Safe riding and keep the shiny side up!

Do a search here on seats and you will see a bunch of options but most are just personal choice. It seems the most popular seats are Seth Laam seats and Baldwin Motorbike Saddles (which I have). Lots of others available too. Search peg lowering and you will see a lot more choices for that. I'm running AST peg lowers but not sure they make them anymore. 1 3/8" lower makes a world of difference....kind of like the bar risers but for the knees. Both of these items are a must have in my opinion. Good luck.
In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they aren't. Without data you are just another guy with an opinion.

There is a near new Seth Laam seat for sale in the classifieds now. Worth watching classifieds to save some money on these seats....they get spendy. Go here.. http://forum.cog-online.org/c-14-emporium/

If you haven't added Canyon Cages to the front yet, I would highly recommend these.  My opinion is the best setup for pegs is special bolts which COG member n3nman has fabricated.  Here's the link to his description of the peg setup:
http://forum.cog-online.org/accessories-c14/new-hwy-peg-set-up-for-c14-2010-2016-with-canyon-cages/

I have attached some pictures of the Rivco pegs mounted to Canyon Cages on my 2016.  The ability to extend my legs while driving makes sitting for an extended time much more comfortable.  I have found the stock 2016 seat to be good enough for me since the pegs were added.

As for pegs... do a search for "buell"  :great:

I have a stock seat, a Laam and a Kawa Touring seat. So far the Kawa touring seat works best for me. I also have touring pegs that I'm very happy with. Good luck.

Slick,

When I'd ride all day on the stock seat at the end of the day I felt like I was sitting on the end of a baseball bat.  Bought a Corbin last year and now at the end of the day my butt isn't any sorer than any other part of me.  YUGE improvement!

One man's opinion.

Ride Safe!

FYI:  If you do a lot of long distance riding,  a lot of Riders get a Russell Day Long seat eventually, after buying other brands first.

https://day-long.com/

I have a RDL seat on my ST1100 and have about 40K miles on it and it's comfortable, even after an IBA SS1K ride ( or longer ).  They are custom made and the cost is comparable to the off-the-shelve brand seats available.  RDL has been at it for many years.

I just got one for my Concours that I bought in the fall :

I’ve had great luck with my Seth Laam seat and Knight Design lowered pegs

I still have the pen seat on my ‘12, and it’s not the greatest. As gas pegs go, look up the hiway pegs built by Ron’s Pegs. They can make all difference with your knees on a long ride.
