To good to pass?
« on: February 13, 2018, 09:54:31 pm »
I have a 2010 blue.  I love the color and I got it cheap I  thought.  $6100 with just under 50k miles about a year ago.  I did about 40 hours of rebuild and tune up on it and loads of mods.  It is ready to roll and I think  I love her.

There is a 2014 red on sale for $6500 with 2200 miles on it.

WHAT SHOULD I DO????   AAAARRGGGG  :motonoises:    :beerchug:      >:(     :'(    >:D

Best I can say is quit reading ads! You got yours like you want, just ride it.

Your going to loose at least a grand if you sell yours excluding your labor & mods.  :??: Not to mention you'l still have the same bike just red.

            {can't imagine why I would think that..   :dance:}

I know she is chicken Ted.

Cliff I think you are right but the low miles is like a new bike for a very good price.  And I think I can get coverage for it still.  But I got that blue because I liked it more.

BTW can you move the moded ECU from bike to bike or is registered to the bike?

All ECU's are married to the other modules on the bike and can only be moved if you have access to a KDS unit (dealer)
Also there are limitations/incompatibilities based  on model years that you cannot swap
Normally aspirated engines have perpetual turbo lag

That is a good price.  But why is that?
I bought my 2011 in 2015 with 1359 miles on it for $10.3K  It had 3 mods and it was as close to showroom perfect as possible.

So it would depend somewhat on is it totally stock?  And in Mint condition?

How mint is your 2010?  And how many miles on it now?
I agree that your going to lose some money but there are more important things and if you love working on a bike
that is worth something too.

IF you had a Rostra Cruise and want to try a McCruise that might be a good reason to upgrade IMO.

Let us know what you decide to do.

Mike's correct on the ECU issue. the 2010 uses a different ecu than the 2014's too. Steve

Hey,

I love a good deal like the next person but I agree with SilverConnieRider, $6500 is too low for that mileage.  Take a look if it's close by and ask a lot of questions.  There a tell tale signs if the bike has been dropped, believe me I know since I've dropped mine.  Could also be a messy divorce so who knows.

At that price, I would fly down from Canada and ride it back.  :)  The price range $8-9000 is usually what they go for as far as I've seen online.

You won't get your money back that you put into your 2010.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Kinda agree with Gsun... unless I have money to spare in which case I just do what uI feel like! if I don't, just smile and walk away. I've seen soooo many bikes for sale at awesome prices, with all the farkles I wanted, but I see no point in the swap. I'm getting mine to be the way I like it, and I can be content. Each person is different, so all we can do is tell you what WE would do. follow your gut!
Best,

JD

Buy the red one, keep the blue one, look for a white one, shop for a green one, get a black one, and ride one everyday of the week OR
shop EBay for plastic and wheels, paint them all different colors and swap them around weekly. :nananana:
