used 2 piece Corbin in decent shape or stock 2016 seat
« on: July 26, 2019, 01:37:30 pm »
Hi All,

I am trading in my 2009 for a 2016 and wondering if I should take my Corbin Seat that is showing signs of wear in the center hump closest to the gas tank or just go with the stock seat?  Also, would the Corbin Seat fit the 2016?

Yes, the 09 & 16 seats are interchangeable. I have an 08 & a 16 & swapped seats no problem.

Thanks for the input.  You think I am better off with the used Corbin?

Compared to the stock seat? Yes, especially if the Corbin has been good for you on your old bike.

I dont know about the corbin but I just got a 2016. So far I switched back and forth with my touring seat and I like the stock better. My 08 stock seat . not so much.

The Corbin was on my old bike. I opted to keep it so they will install it on the new bike when I pick it up tomorrow.

My lord, my 08 came with a Corbin and it has done nothing but hurt my butt these last 22,000 miles. Ok for the first hour, and then dreadful forever after. I can ride my wife's Yamaha R3, a small bike, with a stock seat, for hours, and no pain. If I weren't so cheap I would have already traded it out. But if you liked those darn things, stick with it I guess.
We sit together, the mountain and me, until only the mountain remains.

I've had a Corbin since new if I'm going on a long ride I wear protective pants which solves the hard seat issue for long rides, also have an Airhawk if needed.

Hey, I pay to have that seat shipped to me, I'll send you the like-new one from my 2011, plus $ ;D
