Wanted- Concours14 Badges in Black
« on: July 07, 2018, 05:39:22 pm »
Coggers,
After painting my '12 C14, I wanted to place badges in black vs. chrome.  This goes along with black fasteners for all exposed screws, etc.  I was able to find the "Kawasaki" logos in embossed glossy black but have not been able to locate a set of black "Councour14" badges that go on the side panels.
If anyone has seen something like this I would appreciate hearing about it.
Cheers!

Take the chrome ones off and your original chrome ones and try Duplicolors black chrome tint for a real custom look  :great:

Hmmm,
Thanks for this.  I found when I removed the old ones prior to painting that they removed easily with a bit of heat.  They are actually nice little pieces of plastic with PSA on the back and get quite squishy when heated even a little bit.  The issue to me was a given "Kawasaki" is not one piece rather, 8 pieces held in place by the clear cover masking on the front which you peel off when it is mounted to the fairing. Even if I managed to get each letter off intact, I did not feel that my eyeballs were calibrated enough to get them set and spaced correctly on the new paint.  Plus, some of them broke upon removal making them useless to me.  Maybe my technique is/was flawed...
Grant- good idea, I can get the chromed ones and duplicolor tint them. That might just work.

Thanks all!

Easy peasy, did it many times, buy new badges and paint them black.  :49:

Wow, nice work.  I will give it a try with a new set of Concours14 Badges.
Thanks!
