Actually mine was not hard to do and I followed the OEM Owner's Manual instructions which basically said to take off the black tank plate, pull the fairing and pocket. Swing the pocket out of the way, remove the foam heat shield, remove two bolts, then pull out the filter and stare at it.
Then reverse.
Took about an hour of which half the time was spent reading the book, finding the (right) wrenches, scratching my head, putting antibiotic salve on scratched places (on my hands)

, THEN getting gloves, and proceeding. Piece of cake!
30 minutes next time (I'll start with gloves)...
