Windshield maintenance
« on: March 31, 2012, 08:21:53 pm »
I decide it was time to lube the windshield guides. Seemed simple.

Pics below of the guides.
Well, I discovered a broken tab where the well nut sits on the left inner fairing.
I took an electrical box that I figured was made of ABS and used a hole saw to cut a piece out, drilled a hole in the middle to fit the well nut and glued it onto the broken tab.
It worked well.

Why is nothing simple? :-[

I don't see the pictures right now. Maybe it's just my computer or this particular time.   ???

I found the same on mine. Still under warranty. You think mama Kaw would cover?

Never know unless you try. Mine is long out of warranty. I may have tightened it up too much last time. Interesting that I am not the only one....

I'd never had mine off and found the top clutch side broke exactly like that. When I put it back together felt the bottom pop. I hate taking my bike to the stealer but better for this.
