So it seems some folks are wondering what the next custom color bodywork set I'll be doing up, so I guess I'll start this thread as a place holder and place to start dropping hints and pics etc...  ;)

This week I finally received that last 2 things I was still needing for my next set of custom painted bodywork...  >:D

Scored me another big a$$ Corbin 70 liter trunk from a member here, thanks DB!  :great:

And scored me another set of wheels off ebay to get powder coated up in a custom color for the new bodywork color set!  :great:

All the other bodywork pieces I already have from prior sets that are boxed up in the garage.  :great:

I just wanted to be the first reply on a giant ZG thread!  :D

I'm guessing a color that you think Mama Kaw won't do in the next few years and spoil your originality.   :great: :great: :beerchug: :beerchug:

If the above is an indicator, it's gonna be good, no doubt. :beerchug:

True FS, I don't foresee mama Kaw in the near future doing the color set on the ZG14 that I plan to do next, but who know's, they did seem to do the green for 2015...  ???   (little hint though, the colors "are" Kawi colors from past years other Kawi bikes)

The above pics are "not" any indicator of what the color (colors) will be, those will be redone in the new color/colors...  ;) :)

Thanks, I like it, especially in the cold PNW months... It's just that indoor carpet that you buy by the foot on the large rolls at Lowes/HomeDepot etc...

Looking forward to updates and seeing the project come together ZG!

Your color change threads along with the good Rev (ultimate C10 thread) are always super fun to watch for updates.

Great to see you in Cortez.  The current red version remains my favorite....thus far.

I'm subscribing since I'm considering a paint job to refresh my 4 year old bike.    So do we need ZG's permission to copy what's bound to be another impressive paint job?

Yea, all his paint schemes have copy right infringements. At least in my own mind.
ZG your presentation of "big red" in Cortez was flawless. Not a spot of dirt, totally integrated paint with black accents and the bike glowed like new penny. Very tough to beat that paint job.
Really appreciate seeing a work of art.

I do like the yellow idea though.  I'm partial to that one!

There was a lot of hand crafted parts on the first place winner. Notably, an extra gas tank. The bike was set up for long range touring and had a lot of innovative stuff. However, in IMHO, Jay's bike was a clear winner. His presentation was perfect.

Ok, so this project might kick off sooner than later now... I've moved quite a bit of the extra body work I was looking to get rid of to free up some garage space and also partially fund this next paint project. I had the wheels I just bought off ebay tested down at my local shop and they are indeed straight, so I had those all stripped down and have a meeting with the powder coat guy next week, I'm currently leaning towards a candy blue color for the wheels. I also have a meeting with my painter next week as well to discuss the concept and project...

So I guess I'll try to explain what I'm thinking of doing, so chime in and give me your feedback and opinions!

I'm basically going to have 2 full sets of bodywork painted to be able and mix-n-match to create 5 full sets out of these 2 sets being painted and with my current red set...

If this all works out I should end up with the following:

- solid red set (my current set on the bike)
- solid blue set
- red/wht/blue tricolor set
- green/wht/blue tricolor set
- blue/wht twocolor set

The blue I'm looking to go with is the Kawi "surf blue" that was used on the 2012 ZX14R, pic below, it's a beautiful color in person IMO and really pops in the sun.

For the green pieces I still have my Kawi "golden blaze green" lowers from my old full green set of bodywork, so I'll use those and also have some other pieces painted in that same color.

For the white I'll go with a pearl white, most likely just have my painter mix something in house for those pieces.

I'm still working on where makes the most sense to do the cut lines etc so that these all interchange nicely and look sano, I'm getting closer on that but also want to hear what my painter thinks best as well because these pieces won't be on the bike when they're painting them, and I definitely want the lines to match up perfect.

The below is what the inspiration of the theme is going at for the tricolor sets, the lines won't be exactly like the below, they will be different, but from a color combo concept this should give you a feel...

Whatcha think??  ???
